Moral Theory.

Utilitarians and Kantians have differing normative theories on what makes a decision morally permissible though they may each agree on the moral position to take. In this essay, you need to show your understanding of the two major moral theories by developing a moral argument in the context of a specific bioethics case. You can write one essay choosing one topic β€œor- two essays by choosing both. Answer the following questions for Topic A or Topic B from the perspective of ONE of these two major moral theories (whether you agree with the view or not) and defend your argument against the OTHER major theory you do not choose. For instance, if you argue a decision is morally right from a Utilitarian perspective, defend your argument by considering what a Kantian would argue in the case. Responses should be 2-3 pages in length, typed, double-spaced, and 12 point Times/Times New Roman font. Questions to address for a full response: 1) What facts in the case are relevant to the decision? 2) Who or what is most effected by the decision (consequences)? 3) What would be the maxim for the action here? 4) Was the decision morally permissible or impermissible?
